Martina Láznicková-Galetová
Researcher (PhD) at the Department of Archaeology and Prehistory, the Moravské zemské muzeum (Moravian Museum) in Brno. She specializes in topics such as human-animal interactions, studies of Venus figurines, particularly from the area around Pavlov and Brno, and mammoth ivory ornaments.
Publications include:
– “Paleoanthropology Book Series – Contributions in Paleoanthropology, Volume 1: Human-Elephant Interactions: From Past to Present.”
– “Gravettian Ivory Ornaments in Central Europe, Moravia.”

Martina is an expert on the Venus of Věstonice — the oldest ceramic Venus figurine, dating back 30,000 years — and other Venus figurines in Moravia.
The Moravian Museum preserves this unique heritage and is currently reconstructing the exhibition space directly in Dolní Věstonice. A 3.5 km-long archaeological trail leads through the entire area to Pavlov.
