Sabine Maier
Born in Friesach, Austria, in 1971, she is a media artist and curator,
and has been the artistic director of the FASSFABRIK real-world laboratory in Vienna since 2024.

Sabine Maier works across disciplines in the fields of artistic photography, media art, radio art, art in public spaces (installations and structures) and staging in collaboration with writers and composers. She works not only with media, but also on the media, on the many dimensions of the media, and on the technical conditions of old and new media. Since 1998, she has been working as a freelance artist in the fields of photography, installation and visual arts.
Since 2004, MACHFELD has been running an interdisciplinary media art laboratory in Vienna; projects, exhibitions/screenings in: Africa, Europe, North America, the USA and Central America.
