Christoph Theiler

lives in Vienna since 1982.
He studied piano and percussion in Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Vienna.
He is a composer autodidact. Initially, he developed a rich concert activity as a soloist and chamber musician.
He ended this in 1998 to devote himself exclusively to composition.
His more recent works are in the fields of multimedia, sound installation, performance, intervention and social sculpturing. His catalogue of works comprises around 100 compositions, 40 theatre and radio play scores and 70 interdisciplinary works.
REPLY was a project for the Mozart Year, in which Mozart’s begging letters were sent once again under his own name to the 100 richest Germans and Austrians.
SAMENSCHLEUDER (Seed Slinger) aimed to transform driving into an environmentally friendly activity. In the TRACKER DOG project, owners followed their dogs. The routes recorded with GPS were used to create new hiking maps for Lower Austria. A PIEFKEDENKMAL (Pieff Memorial) was erected in Gänserndorf near Vienna in 2009.
It is a sound sculpture made of Corten steel. RE-ENTRY (2010) was an experimental opera production for the Oldenburg State Theatre.
FLUID CONTROL is a tool that enables you to control sound/video software and computers (Arduino, Raspberry) using water synthesizers.
