Rudolf Aigelsreiter
Born in 1952, lives and works in Vienna. From 1974 onwards, he created objects, drawings, conceptual works and compositions.
Among other things, he was represented at the “Grenzzeichen Symposium” in Litschau.
His composition ‘die ufer, eine station’ [ the shores, a station ] was premiered at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, accompanied by a video performance by Friedrich Hahn. He composed the music for ROLL OVER, a contribution to the Cairo Biennale by Tone Fink and Ona B.
His works can be found in theatre productions, films, radio plays and performances, and reflect his search for new forms of artistic expression.
In recent years, his work has focused primarily on painting, which has led to various exhibitions and exhibition participations.
The malleability of free-floating attention and focused perception in all its diversity is at the heart of Aigelsreiter’s work.
In order to make the expansion of the communicative dimension of perception perceptible, he gently guides the viewers of his works through the process of visualisation, introducing them to his visions and perspectives.
