Elisabeth  Windisch

is an artist and an exhibition curator.

Having studied in the Rhineland, in Germany, she is now living in Vienna and feels at home in many disciplines of the visual arts.

In her work, she translates social phenomena into the realm of art, revealing and visualizing the complex mechanisms, rules and value systems – including those of the art world itself. Starting from a specific question or situation, she develops large-scale installations that respond to the respective exhibition venue, while emphasising the specific nature of the situation at stake.

Elisabeth Windisch is a co-founder of Brunnen e.V. – Kunsträume am Ebertplatz (Art-spaces at the Ebertplatz) and was, as member of its board, active for the art and culture scene in Cologne. As part of the team at the artist-run space „Bruch&Dallas“ and as a freelance curator, she has organised a variety of exhibition formats and festivals.
